UPDATE ON ORAL PRESENTATIONS
UPDATE ON ORAL PRESENTATIONS

I. General Information communicated previously:

  • Oral presentations are 15 minutes in length: 12 minutes for presentation and 3 minutes for discussion/questions. There will be an additional 2 minutes after each presentation to permit members of the audience to change rooms if they wish.

  • All oral presentations will be PowerPoint presentations. No other audiovisual media are permitted.

  • Each section moderator will be responsible for ensuring that the PowerPoint files are loaded for his/her section, and also ensuring that the LCD projector for the section is set up. There will be two student assistants per room.

  • The schedule MUST be strictly maintained in each of the parallel sessions. Section leaders will contact presenters before the session. Quality presentations and schedule must be maintained. If a presentation fails or is not completed in the allotted amount of time, the presentation will not be allowed to continue.

  • Only ISVEE10 computer equipment will be allowed for oral presentations. Please understand that personal computer equipment will not be allowed for presentation of papers during ISVEE10.

  • II. New information for naming PPT files for ISVEE 10:

Please name your files using the following format: DDSRlastnameAAA.ppt

    Where:

DD is the number corresponding to the date of the day of your presentation. For example, for Monday 17 November, DD is 17 and for Friday 21 November, DD is 21.

(For information on the date, session and abstract (ID) number, consult the "program" section of the ISVEE10 website, www.isvee10.com)

S is the capital letter (Either A, B, or C) corresponding to the session of your presentation (see website) where:

    • A is the morning session, 10:00 - 13:00
    • B is the first afternoon session, starting at 14:30 each day except Friday, when it begins at 13:30
    • C is the last afternoon session, after the coffee break of the afternoon, usually starting at 16:45

R is the number of the room of the presentation (either 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5)

Last name is the senior author's last name (surname). Please do not use accents, apostrophes or other symbols in this field.

AAA is the abstract ID number (3 numbers)(see website for "ID")

    For Example:

Juanita Pérez will give her oral presentation "Models of FMD in Chile" (abstract no. (ID no.) 76) on Tuesday, November 18 at 14:47 (first afternoon session), room 3. She will name her presentation:

    18B3perez076.ppt

III. New information for sending PPT files to ISVEE 10

If we have your files before the meeting, we can ensure that the format is compatible with our equipment. The deadline for electronically submitting Powerpoint files is Wednesday, November 12. If you are unable to meet this deadline, bring your file to ISVEE and consult the information desk.

Always make a backup copy of your presentation, and bring it to ISVEE 10 with you.

    IV Presenting at ISVEE 10:

  • Meet with your session moderator the afternoon before your presentation, in the same room as your presentation, immediately after the last presentation of the day in that room. For Monday presentations, meet your session moderator at 18:45 Sunday afternoon (just before the welcome cocktail) in the room. Moderators' names will be available on the ISVEE 10 website soon.

  • This meeting will enable the moderator to recognize you, and for him/her to ensure that your Powerpoint files have been recorded. You will also have the chance to familiarize yourself with the room and the presentation controls. Laser pointers will be available in each room.
